  • Searching For The Less Smutty

I was chatting with my driving instructor yesterday and he was telling me about a really good restaurant he'd been to. "Look it up online". Well I refrained from looking up its actual name. Its called the S&M Cafe, there is no way I was putting that in to Google. I've put some sensible things in and come out with smut so I was playing it safe this time.

Trouble is I had a flutter around their website and now I'm really hungry and want Sausage & Mash. Argh! It might be a trip to Tesco this afternoon.

  • Sign Of The Times

I don't read the papers much these days, I tend to get most of my news through the odd bulletin and BBC online. I do however try and read the T2 in the Times as I just love some of the articles that turn up. I'm particularly loving Carol Midgley. I read the following piece and found myself agreeing and tutting along...

  • A Change For The Good

I've just had a good old clear out, although still only found one pop sock under my bed! Clearly my treasure trove is hidden under the sofa instead. This week is all about cheering myself up now so I had a hair cut, painted my nails, had a two hour driving lesson and Friday is pay day so I might pop in to Croydon for some shopping. Its the simple pleasures in life and thats what this week is going to be all about.

What simple pleasures cheer you up? I could do with some more ideas as I'm going to have a slot free tomorrow afternoon and I can't decide what to do.

  • Chirrpy Chirrpy Cheep Cheep

Okay so I'm definitely hooked on Twitter now. I opened an account ages ago and used it once or twice but couldn't see the point... now I fear I'd addicted. I've installed my TweetDeck and Twitterific and this morning I'm trying to learn how to use all the features. I shouldn't be having this much fun with and internet application surely?!

  • I've Said It Before...

... and I'll say it again but one of these times I'd like to mean it. I need a change. I've got next week off work and although I will have work to do [I know you don't need to say it!] I'm going to go for some me time. I need to have some fun, some relaxation and a think about things. The last week or so have made me think a bit harder about things and its made me disappointed, in myself, other people and life in general. Sure I've made some new friends in that time but I feel like I've lost some through that disappointment.

Just another random "feeling sorry for myself" post, I promise that next week when I've got my own time I'll be back to my old self.

  • Way Of Life

Some people dissappoint me, other make me more optimistic about the human race. Why is it always the way round that makes me sad?

  • Comedy Thy Name Is Podcast

What was I going to do with my day today? Well I was going to clear up some stuff... haha that never really materialised. I've just sat at my computer all day listening to SModcast, its basically Kevin Smith & Scott Mosier waffling. Which being a waffler myself I appreciate. There aren't many American comics I can listen to for this many hours in a row but there's just something about it that appeals to me. I guess I could just see myself sitting in a pub with friends having the same conversations.

On the other hand I got the Mock The Week podcast of Frankie Boyle. I can certainly see why lots of his stuff gets cut, so funny though. I might have to apologise to a few people as the volume of the recording was a bit off so random rude jokes could be heard probably as far as the end of my road. I also may be partially deaf from it but it was definitely worth it!

  • PMA

I used to love that advert! I'm trying to have some PMA of my own. As you can imagine things have been a bit up in the air the last few weeks and I'm finally feeling like things are coming back together. Everyone is back home and I'm going to make sure I get back on my healthy eating routine and take some more exercise. It was making me feel so much better so its silly not to keep doing it.

Luckily friends have been a wonderful help and Sam in particular has been keeping me [relatively] sane. Its been so much fun at work with old faces coming back and its hasn't been quite so lonely.

I know its ages away but I'm thinking about missing them all when the summer is over.

  • BBQ Season Is Here

My friends had a BBQ yesterday, it wasn't the best weather but it was still a wonderful time. Everyone was outside in the rain with unbrellas having a laugh. I met some really nice people and really relieved some stress. Next year I'm definitely wangling another invite! I miss having parties like that, I've got the urge to organise them but I get a bit twingy thinking about the washing up!!

  • Take That & Party

The girls and I went to the Take That concert at Wembley Stadium last night. It was brilliant, not only were Take That good as expected but the Circus performers were excellent. They even had the original singer of Relight My Fire on who I think is called Loleatta Holloway.

Support acts were Gary Go, who I'd never really heard of but he was brilliant, I instantly came home and brought his album on iTunes. And The Script... how brilliant was that?! I would have paid to see them play on their own.

Here are a few pics for your enjoyment, if you want to see the rest they're on my Facebook page.

So that was a busy day yesterday and due to my stupidity I have another busy day today off to London with my friend for Gay Pride.

  • Pondering... Heroes

I just finished watching xXx 2 The Next Level and I was wondering to myself... are there really heroes like that? There have to be some people out there who save the day in miraculous acts of bravery. You've got all these TV and movie heroes, but is there really someone out there as reckless as Jack Bauer who always manages to save the country in 24 hours?

I really like the idea that there are people who do all that to save their country. People who use a kitchen knife to thwart a whole army of baddies on a train. People who throw themselves off the roof attached to fire hoses. At the same time though I guess having these heroes means that there would be psychos who have crazed plans to take over the world. Hmm every idea has its draw back.

  • Kind Of Blah

I haven't had the desire to come online. Needless to say it hasn't been the happiest week or so since I was on. Luckily I've managed to keep busy. I went to the cinema three times in three days which is even a bit excessive for me! I saw Transformers 2... brilliant. Public Enemies... well made. Ice Age 3... really fun in 3D.

Take That concert tomorrow, fingers crossed for slightly cooler weather than today... I wont even moan if it rains a bit. I'd better get to learning the words properly otherwise I'll have to mime!
