  • Netbook Ahoy

Well, thanks to some sage advise I am now blogging this from my new netbook. Thanks to those of you who sensibly pointed out I was being daft! I fiddled with my settings and now I'm whizzing around blog while logged in. I plan to be down in the pub on Saturday looking like I might be doing work and being super efficient with Netti [as I have dubbed her] when infact I will be talking to you lot and stalking people on facebook. Alright so I might actually get some writing done too.

Busy day planned tomorrow, working more or less all day. Boss leaves at 2.30, hence the more or less bit. The girls and I are popping up to London as a belated birthday trip for one of them. I will no doubt be dead on my feet, goodness knows what time we'll get back. To be honest I was dead on my feet when I got home today. We've been stock taking... and no thats not taking home stuff from the book shelves, I'd have enjoyed that! We had to scan every book in the showroom... bah... I scanned about 6000 I reckon and I was only one of three people doing it! Walked home feeling a bit grimy so I'm contemplating a soak in the bath with a big glass of wine, which they were kind enough to give me as a reward. So in this instance feeling disgusting has its benefits!

  • What's A Girl To Do

I was all excited, my new netbook turned up today... yay! Its so cute! And yet so evil at the same time. Do the important things first. Add blog and facebook to my favourites. Facebook is fine blog however wont do anything. How am I supposed to blog while I'm at the pub if I can't log in? All it does is reload the page with a log in box. I have to have more fun than just stalking people on facebook while I'm at the pub!!

  • Twitching For A Change

I fancy going away somewhere, don't know where but it'd be nice to be able to run away for a while. I'm always quite envious of people who don't have anything to keep them anywhere. I'd love to have an impulsive desire to pack a bag and go straight to the airport... and actually be able to do it. I've not got it in me though, I've got this damn desire to be loyal to work and stay at home. Maybe one day I'll feel a bit more impulsive about the whole thing.

  • Thinking Block

I suppose it might actually be writers block but I just can't think either. Its probably because I haven't used my brain all day. I had a headache that started at about 9.02 and is still rattling around in my head now. I think I might have to go and do something else that doesn't require brain power. Paint my nails or something.

  • Weekend Fun

This has been a more energetic weekend than normal. Saturday I went up to PC World as my laptop was infected and nothing would work. I picked up a virus scanner and "de-crapped" my laptop and now everything seems relatively normal. Despite any google searches taking me to a different website than the one I clicked on.

We went to Standen House in East Grinstead. I've now got my National Trust card so we decided we should go out and be a bit sad and use them.

When we came back we had a bit of lunch at the local. After a decision that it would be great to spend more time at the pub I came home and ordered a netbook so I can wifi there... don't ask me why I have no clue but I did it anyway!

Today has been spent sitting in the garden reading and getting some sun. Its a tough life sometimes!

  • Burn Out

About every eight months I completely burn out. I'm worn out, fed up and generally have a lack of enthusiasm for everything. Tuesday, as is the tradition of burn out, I got home had something to eat and then slept for 11 hours. I woke up before my alarm and felt fantastic. I know its not really very good to live like that but there's not a lot to do about it.

Three weeks have passed by with trips to Manchester, Oxford and Cheltenham... none with any sight seeing. 16 3/4 extra hours of work. Thw only plus side is that's two extra days in the sun I can have!

Back to the hum drum working day tomorrow. Two meetings, one large order and one day closer to burn out 2010.

  • Coaching The Team

What a morning so far, up at 5.30 to leave for a train a 6.30. I'm currently on a coach, feeling rather queasy headed for Cheltenham. I think I might have to have a bit of a nap.

  • WiFi At The Pub

Well you've got to love WiFi at the pub. I think I know where I'll be blogging from from now on! Genius idea! Maybe not on a Sunday as the menu is rubbish.

  • Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep

Happy Easter and all that. I thought our household had forgotten about Easter a long time ago but Mum handed m a Toffee Crisp egg and two bags of Toffee Crisp Clusters. If see sickness in my future!

Yesterday I only ended up seeing one film, the Boat That Rocked... it did indeed rock. I really enjoyed it, well apart from the woman sitting a few rows back who was singing along fairly loudly with the songs! It was good fun and I always enjoy a films that's juvenile and cheeky fun. I was a bit disappointed with Jack Davenport and Kenneth Branagh. Both great actors but neither of them really managed to pull off the drab characters.

As predicted there is no decision about where to go. Two places have been dismissed as too expensive I believe and we're on to Godstone Farm, but who wants to walk around that in weather like this?! I'm planning another trip to the cinema as they probably wont come up with anything. I would have gone twice yesterday but they gave me a money off voucher and told me I couldn't use it on the same day as getting it. Does that make any sense? No. Surely they'd still be getting my money what difference does it make what day I use it? I'm probably going to go and see 17 Again, sad of me I know but it looks quite fun. If there are too many tweenies about though I'll go and see Knowing.

Remember, don't eat too much chocolate. Send it all to me and I'll dispose of it for you... I promise!

  • iWrite Because iHave To

As you know if you're made enough to follow my ramblings I have just got an iPhone. I've been playing about with it and have got to grips with most things... except my phone bill but thats a different story I wont bore you with. I actually had more trouble this morning trying to put the case together that I brought for it than any of the real technical stuff. I really am an iAnything fan at the moment.

Anyway, down to my point. Do any of you have an iPhone? If so do any of you have a writing application? I'm trying to find one but I honestly have no idea which one to pick. Notebooks looked alright but to some degree they all look the same to me. I know there are reviews on the site but I'd have more faith in a review from one of you guys than some random on iTunes.

  • No Country For Enjoying A Long Weekend

The first time that Mum ever makes plans... all be it vague ones and the weather is bloody miserable! We've decided to go out tomorrow and there will probably be long discussions over what we'll do. 9 times out of 10 this ends in us not doing anything but we'll see.

In the mean time I'm going to surf around the web a bit and kill sometime until I can start a movie marathon. I fancied going to the cinema and as it turns out there are five films on that I fancy. Last time this happened I turned up at the cinema for one of the first showings and didn't leave until mid afternoon. An expensive day I know but I saw three films and I find those cinema seats quite comfy!

  • What's A Girl To Do?

A bank holiday has been fairly wasted on me today. I spent most of it working and watching trash on tv. I've got my fingers crossed for some sunshine so I can sit outside and get a bit of a tan.

  • Good Ol' Jaunt

I had a great time in Manchester today. To be honest it's nice to know I'm not the only nutter about! Flight home was full of people in nice suit with nice bums so that was quite pleasant. I have never made it out of an airport so quickly, I'd certainly go internal flight again... I know I know, think about the environent, but if was just so damned handy.

Possibly like a fool I got home a 7 and carried on working and have just this minute stopped. Consciencious or what?! (Is that even how you spell that?)

So, what have you all got planned for a hopefully lovely bank holiday weekend? Looks like Mum has actually decided we're going to go to Hever Castle one day, which will make a nice change. Loving you and leaving you for now, I'll be back though so behave yourself while I'm gone!

  • Having Fun With The iPhone

I'm typing this from my iPhone... I'm actually sitting at my computer while it's on but what would be the fun in using it when I had a brand spanking new phone drop through the door?!

  • Jet Setter

I get to jet off on Thursday for a meeting... shame its not somewhere exotic. I'm off to Manchester. First time I've ever flown anywhere on my own so it should be fun. Shame I have to come back the same day. It might be the nearest thing I get to a holiday this year!!

Next week we're jet setting to Cheltenham and Oxford the week after... woop-de-do! This is the only thing I hate about my job.

  • Original Sin

I try to be a bit different with presents if I can. I like to make things, it just gives it that personal touch. This year I had a cooking bug and decided to craft some yummy goodies. I ended up googling for recipes and came up with some fortune cookie recipes. They look simple... flat cookies that you mould... well hats off to those of you that make them, how you do it I don't know!! I'll just stick to buying them from now on I think.

After the disasterous attempt at fortune cookies I decided on making some chocolate truffles. [Brief trumpet solo] They were bloody good! It was such a shame, I got covered with so much chocolate while making them and of course I couldn't just waste it... after this I spent about an hour feeling really sick but it was well worth it! I made two different types, one lot went better than the other and looked like ones you buy in the shops so I was quite proud. The ones that went wrong tasted better though [I think this is probably due to more alcohol going in to that lot by accident].

  • Still Drunk

It was a night out on the tiles last night in Wimbledon for my friends birthday. I think there is a distinct possibility I am still drunk. The place was nice but expensive but they had a good selection of music and it wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear a conversation. As per normal I did some things I regret but it wouldn't be a proper night out if I was sensible! What is the point of sensible?! I always hate to admit it but it is a nicer crowd of people than the usual places we go. I didn't witness any agressive behaviour so it was a nice change of pace.

I met some interesting people, some funny, some crazy [some not in a good way] and everyone was friendly. Even the looney outside the bar was friendly. I say looney, some random came up to me while I was waiting outside for my cab and started to chat. I was looking out for the cab so I wasn't really sure what we were talking about to be honest. I'm kind of assuming that she was trying to work out how to get home but as I've only been to Wimbledon four times... only one of which was sober I would have been no use! Evidently my friends were back by the bar and couldn't tell what was going on but they assumed I had pulled because one minute I was talking to someone and the next we were both gone.

No hang over this morning but I had a distinct balance problem. I was having to walk around very straight as if I was slightly off to one side I was falling over... This is what makes me think I was still drunk. I've got all my co-ordination back now after a trip to the pub for lots of food and caffeine.
