  • A Postcard From Turkey

    Postcard From Turkey

Although I am now back home I brought you all a postcard. Sorry its a bit blurry but my scanner is broken for some unknown reason. Anyway...

"Wish you were here... Sun is good, drink is better and there are lots of people to flirt with. Lots of love Emma"

  • Packing The Return

"The suitcase loomed in the distance and I threw my last ammunition at it. Would this all ever be over? Would I be able to see the light over its gaping jaws?"

I think I deserve a round of applause. I cut down on everything. Even when I had it all laid out and had the bare minimum I still left things out. I managed not only to close my suitcase but also close the expandable section too!

I then got out the scales and tested the weight. It came out at 17.8kg. A whole 2.2kg under the maximum. So what did I do? Sit back and relax? No I opened it up and put another book in there!

I came up with the final list of books and they are as follows. They will be discussed when I get back incase you feel the need to read along!

    Wogan's Twelve - Terry Wogan
    Alexander Cipher - Will Adams
    Confessions Of A Lapdancer
    We Know - Gregg Hurwitz
    Skeleton Coast - Clive Cussler
Skin & Bone - Kathryn Fox
    Death List - Paul Johnston
Dearly Devoted Dexter - Jeff Lindsay
    Girl In High Heels
    Georgiana Duchess Of Devonshire

  • Packing Potential

Off on holiday tomorrow so I really should be packing now and not leaving it until tonight. Everything is sorted out it just needs to go in the suitcase. I'll get to it soon. The whole book decision is still going to be a last minute thing I think!

I seem to have got the clothes situation down to a reasonable level. I never understand why I end up with so much clean stuff left over at the end of a holiday. I still can't believe that bag weight limit is 20kg, we pack boxes heavier than that at work.

Speaking of work I was very conscientious yesterday and was down there working from 7.45 in the morning. There's so much stuff coming in its ridiculous and some people aren't really making the effort they should be.

I can't put the effort off anymore... well I can, I'm going to have a shower first and possibly go to Tesco! But then I will definitely get my packing done!

  • Fantastic

I've been using the word fantastic a lot this week, not sure why, so now I've turned it in to my catchphrase with hand gestures. Its *fantastic*!

It was my last stressful day at work today. I have however agreed to go in tomorrow but I'm actually looking forward to it, its not going to be stressful or anything. We're so busy that we're having to catch up so a few of us have volunteered. One of the blokes has said he'll come in for the morning but there's football in the afternoon so he's going home for that! It'll be some more time in lieu which'll be nice.

I'm still putting off the packing. I'm going to get the suitcase out tomorrow afternoon I think and just start randomly throwing things at it. I've narrowed it down in my head and I can visualize the bare minimum that I'm going to attempt to take.

I was out last night with my friend, we popped out and had Tapas... mmmmmm... I love tapas, god bless the Spanish. I felt horrendously full afterwards but it was well worth it! We exchanged birthday presents and I got exactly what I wanted [thank you very much T!], an iTunes voucher. So as soon as I got in I went online and brought the new Sharleen Spiteri album and Scouting For Girls. Then today I got Nickelback's latest album. I've got the hang of this iTunes malarkey.

  • Its Not The End Of The World As We Know It

Much like the rest of you I prepared myself for the end of the world this morning. I gave the dog a big hug and left for work... why I did that when the end of the world could have been upon us I don't know... I really should have stayed in bed!

At least on the way to work I get a good chuckle every morning. My walk takes me over a railway station and every morning I'm surrounded by people in suits... that does cheer me up, there's nothing more attractive than someone in a suit. But that wasn't the particularly entertaining part. I could hear the train pulling into the station. I was about 30 yards away from the alley to the platform and I could see a guy running down the hill having just realised it was coming. A woman coming towards the station in another direction saw him running and started running herself. Then a little chain reaction as everyone behind her realised and started running. It was quite amusing to me... maybe that just makes me a bitch! I was very kind though and let loads of people run past me into the alley way, that was possibly self preservation though as I was half expecting to end up in someones backgarden having been forced through a fence in the rush. I wondering whether to try it myself tomorrow morning to see how many people I can get running for nothing. Now that really would make me a bitch.

Work is a bit stressful at the moment as all the schools have gone back now. Every other phone call is "where are my books?" but its not so bad really. Its nice to be able to tell them where they are and they're happy. I wont have to put up with the stress much longer. I'm off on holiday Monday for two weeks. I have yet to find out if the hotel has internet access. It might be better for me if it doesn't as I'd get real relaxation.

I've narrowed my reading selection down to 15 books but still have to get it cut down some more. I've made my list of things I have to remember to pack and I'm going to have to see if I've got all my clothes sorted as last washing day is Friday. I'll be taking lots of pictures and writing a holiday journal while I'm there so if there isn't a computer to use there I'll be very busy on here when I get back.

  • Germs & G

I have no idea where I picked them up from I just know that I'm fed up with them. I was supposed to be going out last night and ended up going to bed at 6.30pm. Didn't get much sleep though as every hour I was waking up and having to turn over as I couldn't breath.

Monday I thought it was a cold, Tuesday it was more like a stomach bug, Wednesday felt like migraine and Thursday and Friday were a mixture of everything. I'd feel much better if it would make its mind up so I could take something and know its going to work!

Usually something fun happens during my week that I can relay to you all but due to my head "swimming" all week everything has passed me by.

I went and saw Duchess, we got free tickets for a preview. It was fantastic and I usually don't like Keira Knightly.
