  • A Day In The Life

    Of me.

Got up at 6.30 and felt a bit miserable about the grey weather. But thought, what the hell its Thursday and everyone is away until monday!

Got to work and thought... gee whizz this is fun.

Destroyed and moved some shelving... got filthy.

Went and had some lunch and picked up a yummy loaf of bread.

Sorted out all our stock and got filthy again.

Didn't do much more work as I was nursing some cuts and bruises from all the moving stuff.

Walked home and a boy racer went by me cranking out loud music. We don't think you're cool because you have a loud music system. And FYI a loud music system in a pimped out punto? Not cool!

Got home, and after this I'm going to do some sewing and have the rest of my Jambalaya while watching my DVD box set of Chuck.

  • Cats Away

Sorry I have been so rubbish recently. Also sorry that I missed so many birthdays!

What has been happening? The dog went for a bath and came back all fluffy which was so cute, and now every one has gone away. *rubs hands with glee*

Instead of slobbing around as I usually do I came home and made a massive Jambalaya. Which will last me for a couple of days.. this means I can come home tomorrow and slob around!

I've been going through my CD listings trying to work out what things I'm missing. There was an advert for a Lynard Skynard CD which I quite fancy. Suddenly realised that I havent got any Neil Sedaka MP3d... don't judge me!

I watched In Bruges while I was cooking. The guy at work raved about it and I thought he had good taste in films (you can see where this is going now can't you) so I asked to borrow it. Admittedly there were a few fun bits but all in all I was really disappointed. I would quite like to get that hour and a half or so back... I wonder who I need to write to about that?

  • Disappointed In Prejudice

People never cease to amaze me. Prejudice from someone who should know better makes me even more disappointed in the world.

  • Memories & Tears Of Laughter

    Does any one remember this?

  • Hormonal?

This morning I was in a fantastic mood now I'm feeling like a big grump. AAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! There, I feel a bit better.

Went to try and get some iPod speakers and they have hundreds of pointlessly expensive ones. I'm not paying £100 for a box to put my iPod on its ridiculous. I'm just going to wait until my replacement ones come from Play. I did pick up Black Sheep while I was out... a modern classic in the B-Movie genre... don't nag me I know its budget was probably more than a B-Movie but its just so funny and rubbish!

Now I have discovered how to put TV episodes on to my iPod I realised the disturbing fact... I can now watch TV in any room in my house. I'm not sure this is a step forward for mankind. I wont be watching TV in every room of my house because I'd be afraid of dropping it in water.. but I could if I so wished.

  • The Little Things That Make You Smile

Sunday morning I was basically a grump... nothing was cheering me up. I was going out for lunch and didn't want to go, couldn't even be bothered to go and get ready. I eventually got the enthusiasm and had a quick shower... then the best part of my weekend... possibly month. I was looking for a pair of jeans to wear and couldn't find my normal ones. I went through my drawers and found a pair that have clearly never been worn. I'd obviously tried them on and thought, well... they'll fit soon, and put them in the drawer. I tend to buy things and keep them when they don't fit instead of taking them back. I'm sure lots of women have brought things they like so much that they keep them in the hopes they'll fit... well this is one of mine. I haven't been in that drawer for about two years so didn't get my hopes up. I put them on and was thinking, these seem alright but they aren't done up yet. I then managed to do them up, and whats more I could sit down and breath at the same time. Brilliant! I haven't smiled so much in my life... well that might be an exgeration but you know what I mean.

I told you once before about our local arsonist that goes round burning for sale signs and other plastic boards down one of our roads, well he's been in action again. Evidently it was an incredible view to see the street lit by flaming signs!? I'm wondering if we could put them to use and have them light our Olympic flame in 2012.

We found the following website for crime statistics in the met area. http://maps.met.police.uk/ It does only cover burglary, robbery and vehicle crime, and I think this is why my area comes out quite well... add our arsonist in and the colour would probably change! Its quite interesting to look at, the road where I work is a good laugh. Our side of the road is in the average bracket and the other side is below average... so we know where we're parking our cars tomorrow! Looking at the road I live in I evidently need to move about 30 houses further down to be a little safer. Croydon in particular has some red sections which was to be expected but I'm interested by the rather pointy angles on the sections. Does this mean that someone commited a crime on that point?

  • Monster?

He's my childhood photo in honour of Prydwen's. Couldn't find one of me around the same age but this one always makes me laugh!

  • Recovering Nicely

I actually managed to achieve something at work today which was a lot better than yesterday! I fear F didn't do so well, but that's her own fault!

Not a lot planned this weekend. Might pop down the road to look in a few shops. I should finish tidying the rest of my room but the chances of that are remote as I go to my desk and end up playing bubble town on Facebook until I decide to go and get a drink or watch a film.

I've been contemplating what books to take on holiday but I end up with a list so long that I have to rethink. I'll probably end up leaving it until the last minute and just putting in whatever fits in the gaps.

What to do now....? Bubble town it is!

  • Possibly The Worst & Best Day At Work Ever

Yep, both in the same day. It all started yesterday (Wednesday afternoon) I guess. I had come home at lunch time as my shoulder was playing up. Not everyone knew I was gone, I wasn't exactly going to walk through and say goodbye to them all. Those who didn't know I had gone took between 2 1/2 and 4 hours to notice... gee thanks!!

I got a text from F saying I was going to the pub with them after work. It wasn't quite that blunt but as far as I could tell the choice was yes or yes anyway! They dropped by and picked me up as I was sort of on the way and we went to the same pub as last time. I was a bit dubious as it was quiz night... and they made me take part! But it was a good laugh, we came second and that wasn't bad considering the first place team only got 34 out of 50 and we got 29 (plus we had two less people on our team).

How the evening panned out the way it did I don't know but we ended up staying until closing, give or take ten minutes, and having eight alcoholic rounds. This in itself is not a problem... unless you're having double vodka and coke... as I was. This morning I felt great. I did lay in bed without moving when the alarm went off to assess the situation... was my head throbbing? If I moved would I have to instantly throw up? I was very daring and lifted my head... no problems there. When I sat up I didn't get dizzy or queasy... I was on a roll. As I'd exerted a lot of energy just to sit up I decided to stay there for five minutes and take some preventative headache pills. My energy levels were high for about the first three hours of the day and then it was downhill after that. I was so tired I had to walk around every ten minutes or so in case I fell asleep at my desk. On my walkabouts I was entertained as F had found herself a spot laying on the floor behind some boxes to "relax". (Got a picture of that for Facebook much to my entertainment and not hers!)

I found that I made it through the day on lots of food and fluid. I came home and ordered a massive Chinese take away and sat stuffing my face while I watched The Condemned. I can now go to bed content. I will warn you all that next Wednesday is another planned outing of clubbing instead of pubbing. I have taken Thursday off as a precaution. I wont be drinking as much next week as I wont be able to afford it but to be honest I think I spent today, not hungover, but still drunk and thats not a good thing (especially when you have to talk to people on the phone).

Right, I'd better go and catch up on some of that sleep I missed last night. Good night ladies and gentlemen.

  • Tuesday Twaddle

Today has been a rubbish day right from the beginning. First my alarm didn't go off... no clue why as I reset it to test it later and it went off fine! My shoulder is causing me problems but yet again I'm just used to the pain now so I'm working through it.

I was feeling incredibly old today... I know don't nag me, I just felt old.

Came home and did some sewing... a hobby for old people? Who knows, I'm not judging. I was supposed to be going out again but I've sort of given up on that. Night in with "The Condemned" bit of violence and action should snap me out of it. Although when I want a hug I don't know why I'm watching that sort of film?!

Right, I'm going to play with my iTunes a bit and then off to my film. As a quick aside I was really annoyed, I ordered a speaker/docking station for my iPod which arrived this morning. Took it to work, as due to the alarm clock thing I was running late, and it turned out to be faulty. Behind every track we played off two iPods there was a wonderful crackling sound.

  • Always Take The Weather With You

I don't know what its like around you way but when I went out to our kitchen earlier it was the most beautiful shade of orange. The sky was filled with grey clouds but the sun was just peaking through. I've seen rooms go pink with the light but never orange. It was just one of those random things that made me smile today. It was a wonderful end to what was a rather dreary day.

Now all I'm hoping for are some thunder storms and it'll be a perfect weeks worth of weather.

I'm not sure where I stand with the whole Global Warming subject but you can't deny that the weather is fairly up and down. All the cloud cover at the moment doesn't make for good star gazing unfortunately.

  • Anything You Read May Not Be Repeated

Today I discovered that at least one of my friends reads this and has encouraged others to have a look. THANKS VERY MUCH!!! You'll pay!

So if you know me and read things on this blog keep them to yourself... end of!

  • Olympic Dreams

Earlier we watched the opening ceremony, as I was at work we recorded it. I was a bit concerned that at four hours it was going to be a bit boring. I was enthralled every minute. It was amazing, good on the Chinese. The oar/boat history bit was so well done. The written word segment with the people in the boxes, only the Chinese with their amazing discipline could do that. It made me wonder about what they are going to do for our opening ceremony.

What on earth are we going to put into it? Morris Dancers? Which although would be quite fun would also be a little lame in comparison. Where do we make suggestions? I'm sure we could all come up with some really great stuff.

  • Do You Remember Popples?

i'm in ur cabinet bein a popple

  • TFIFriday

I don't know how you've all been finding this week but it has felt incredibly long to me. I had a wonderful break from it yesterday when I went to the pub with a couple of friends. I haven't laughed that much in ages... apart from maybe this afternoon when we were in an excessively crazy elastic band war. [Please don't try this at home, elastic band wars are dangerous and cost lives... or eyesight as happened a couple of weeks ago, but I'm fine now!]

It made me think though. I've had a fun life, and I never thought I missed out on much but my friends who are at uni have lots of great stories to tell. I shouldn't feel too down about it though, after all I'm not in debt because of student loans and I probably would have flunked out anyway! The grass is always greener as they say.

I'm going to have a find something for dinner. I was supposed to be going out tonight but due to a very small bank balance to last until the end of the month I've had to put most fun on hold. Sorry guys. Maybe I'll win the lottery and it'll be problem solved... and maybe I'll invent the first car to run on air and emit fairy dust. Watch this space for that!

I have been wearing my iPod at work... and unfortunately missing fairly long conversations because it takes me ages to realise someone is talking to me. Oh well, I bluffed my way through and it seemed to go quite well! I signed my contract on Wednesday and got a copy back signed by our director. Not sure if it was a good thing or not.

  • iTunes-tastic

Well I've been playing around with iTunes. I've downloaded about five songs and I've got myself a podcast. Round of applause for Apple. The "instruction manual" is the shortest thing I've ever seen... but it makes perfect sense and doesn't confuse you. They are so confident in their product that they've just decided to let you get on with it. I need to get new earphones though because the ones with it are really uncomfortable.

I'm going to put on some audio comedy, the trouble it has been splitting up some of my CDs and I'm a bit worried its going to do that with these. Of I go for some experimenting.

  • iPod-tastic

I decided to upgrade my rubbish mini mp3 player for an iPod on Monday. So I ordered one from Tesco online and picked it up this afternoon... I was strangely excited to be getting it. There was nothing wrong with my old mp3 player its just that I was having trouble deciding what music to take on holiday with me, being that it was only 2GB there wasn't a big variety I could take.

    ipod

I now own one of those and its half full already. An 80GB iPod by the way is only about 75GB worth of memory onces its formatted. I'll update you later once I've played around with it some more.

  • I Wanted To Believe

Today Mum and I decided to go and see X-Files I Want To Believe. The truth is definitely out there, and in this case that truth is this film was a waste of my time. The only redeeming feature was a two headed dog. Being a X-Files fan the first time round I was hoping for a good old alien adventure with Mulder and Scully. In this installment all you got was a bad psychic and some Russians performing dodgy operations. I was really disappointed with this one. Normally when I get out of a film I feel compelled to takl about the good points in it. We didn't have anything to say about this one.

When we got to the cinema we were in the queue for 15 minutes before it even moved. Three tills open on a Saturday during the summer holidays... someone was planning well!!!! So thats three people serving and I counted ten staff standing around either chatting or filling up leaflet holders.

As an aside... a note to drivers... arrows painted on the road in car parks are not suggestions. These are intended to ease possible congestion. If you go in the opposite direction you have no right to get angry when people come at you going the right way. Now a note to male drivers... just because there is a woman behind the wheel doesn't mean you get right of way over her car. Road use is on a fair first come first served kind of basis. Not as you seem to belive, "Me man me own road". Any man who can actually drive rationally is obviously excluded from this note.

  • What A Work Out

I have spent the last three days or so being very energetic at work. Although it was a little bit stressful it was great fun. Hopefully I'll have worked off some weight too.

I was really entertained... and slightly disturbed at work today too. It never ceases to amaze me how fast gossip travels on Facebook, so that gave me a bit of a giggle. People will gossip about anything, its funny how wrong they can get things.
