I have to say I was a bit dubious about going out last night. It was my neighbours 40th birthday and we'd been invited along. I got myself dressed up and we pootled along just after it started. It was good fun in the end, quite a few of our neighbours were there and to be honest we've never really spoken to any of them apart from to say hello.
There was dancing and food, and some of the most expensive drink I have ever brought. Over £3 for a pint... I don't even have to pay that much in clubs. The band was good but the singer did ruin some good songs, she needed a gravelly voice and unfortunately didn't have one.
All in all it was good so I'm glad I went, I certainly worked off some calories with the dancing. I tend to try and do some silly ice breaking dancing to get people to join in. I would appear out of no where and do Joey dancing (from Friends), I really hope everyone who didn't know me knew what I was doing other wise I looked like a right prat! Oh well, I wont see them again! ![]()
The birthday girls mother in law was chatting to me and asked why I hadn't brought my boyfriend with me so I told her we'd split up.. it'd been that long since I'd seen her. Everytime we were on the dance floor with her daughter she kept telling me she was single too with a 12 year old and that was okay. I'm not quite sure what she was trying to say but I'm assuming she was going for reassurance! Never mind!!
This morning I sat out in the sun for a while. It was really bizarre in the garden because where I was sitting was sunny without any breeze but a little bit cold and down the end of the garden it was blowing a gale. When I saw a squirrel almost get blown out of a tree I decided to come inside just in case there was a change in the wind.
I've got my fingers crossed for a better week at work.. not so much the work side but the actual motivation to get up and go. I'm certainly feeling perky today but that could change.
Just started a new book, "Whistleblower" by Tess Gerritsen, it should be a good one because I usually enjoy a book if someone dies within the first ten pages. Also after watching Doctor Who from last night I've decided to read some more Agatha Christie. I think I have most of the Poirot and I'm not really in to Miss Marple so I'm going for the collections of her other works. I really like the Doctor Who explanation of her disappearence, wouldn't it be great if that was true?!
